Adidas Originals Commercial

I realize that many people may have seen this ad already but I caught it for the first time watching Friday Night Lights on Hulu earlier today.  I LOVE this commercial and wanted to run out and spend money on adidas immediately.

A Stooges Remake???

Sean Penn, Jim Carrey, and Benicio Del Toro in a film about the Three Stooges?!??!?!  Not only does the casting seem strange to me, but do we really need this movie?  It's not even going to be a biopic which may have been the one way to make it interesting.  At this rate, it's going to fall into the category of the Little Rascals remake.

I'm an Idiot

How could I forget Don Draper from my list of TV's Best Characters?!?!??!  I'm a moron.

Don Draper -- the definition of cool.  He makes everyman want to wear a fedora again.

Also -- Jon Hamm has been a wonderful guest on 30 Rock.

Knowingly Similar?

I have ZERO desire to see the new Nic Cage movie, but couldn't help noticing the movie's logo.  Looks oddly similar to Heroes.  Since no press is bad press, maybe the producers for Heroes should sue.  After losing 3 million viewers since last year, and the story lines just get more boring, Heroes needs something to get people to start tuning in again.

Another Reason to LOVE Barack

He picked Syracuse to make it to the Elite 8. YES WE CAN!!! Just remember what happened the last time we were a 3 seed after missing the Big Dance the year before :)

Jack Donaghy - The Best Character on TV

I'm doing my faithful duty as a new AD for SJP drama by proctoring the stage crew today. The Prep is on Spring Break and stage crew is working full days. Anywho, they started the day by picking some music to listen to -- the number one choice for their medley of tunes was "In the Air Tonight" by Phil Collins. I immediately thought of one of my favorite lines from 30 Rock (and Zach Lowe's too).

Tracy Jordan: "I'm gonna make you a mix tape. Do you like Phil Collins?"

Jack Donaghy: "I have two ears and a heart, don't I?"

Alec Baldwin as Jack Donaghy is one of the funniest/best characters on TV right now, if not of all time. Right now, these are the best characters on TV.

1. Alec Baldwin as Jack Donaghy on 30 Rock - Already talked about above -- His smugness and dry humor makes him the most lovable GOP on the planet.

2. Michael Emerson as Ben Linus on Lost - He's not as dominant on the series this season, but the freakiness of his eyes alone makes him one of the most compelling characters on TV to watch.

3. Michael C. Hall as Dexter Morgan on Dexter - The acting range of MCH is amazing. Watch an episode of 6 Feet Under and Dexter back-to-back and you wont believe it's the same guy. MCH and Anthony Hopkins are the only 2 people ever who will make a serial killer lovable.

4. Glenn Close as Patty Hewes on Damages - A cold hearted bitch. Period. But I freakin LOVE her. And I think I'm starting a fan club for Rose Byrne. She's a stone cold fox.

5. Any character on any season of Friday Night Lights - This show consistently has cheesy/far-fetched plot lines, but pulls it off each week with remarkable heart. Scott Porter (he's play Jason Street) touches on this point with the whole "Texas Forever" line in his blog about his last appearance on the show two weeks ago. I love this show and it's because of the characters -- the acting is top notch. It NEEDS to be picked up for a 4th season.

Alright -- I'm sure people agree and disagree. Let's hear some thoughts.....

My Final Four

Not that my opinion makes any difference at all on this subject, but I'm going with Louisville, Memphis, Pitt, and UNC as my Final Four.  I spent the most time wondering if Cuse could take out UNC.  Even though I have them going a few rounds, their track record proves otherwise in the past few years, so let's hope to god they can take out Stephen F. Austin.

Final Game: Pitt over Louisville.  If Cuse can't win it all -- it's better to keep the trophy in the Big East.

A Love Hate Relationship

I love Syracuse Basketball.  Before the Phillies this Fall, I was a deprived Philadelphia sports fan for most of my life.  Seeing Brad Lidge pointing at the sky is a moment I will never forget, but the first time I felt that kind of euphoria was because of the '03 Orange in the Big Easy.

Last night -- as noted by almost everyone with a brain -- was an EPIC game.  The victory in 6OTs was amazing, but for some reason, I'm not as happy about it as everyone else is out in Cuse Country.  Why?  Eric Devendorf.  As I agreed with several post on facebook last night, he is easily one of the most hated players in any sports ever.  His off the court conduct is so reprehensible that I can't bear watching him play.  He'll have a huge play and I almost want to not cheer.  I DESPISE him.  I felt like jumping through the TV at the end of regulation and tackling him off the courtside table B-Dawk style.  And even though he's makes some good plays at times, as Jay Bilas pointed out last night "he almost helps the other team as much as he helps his own."

And because of Devendorf, I fear Karma is going to screw Cuse and make them have a bad loss in the 1st round -- Again.  Man, do I hope I'm wrong about this last statement.

It's Friday the 13th -- and although I don't want to wish harm on anyone, I know I won't feel an ounce of sorrow if Eric "Douchebag" Devendorf gets injured in tonight's game and has to miss the dance.  Maybe I'll get lucky and he'll be benched for most of the game.

Go Cuse -- beat WV! Just do it without Devo.

The Best Site EVER!!!

This will make you less productive at work, but you will love it. You can watch any sporting event live on your computer -- FOR FREE!!!

Mike Rady On Grey's Anatomy TONIGHT!!!

St. Joe's Prep's very own Mike Rady will be making a guest appearing on tonight's episode of Grey's Anatomy.  Be sure to check it out or watch the rebroadcast online here.  I stopped watching the show after they gave CPR to a deer, but I'll make an exception in this case.  And keep an eye out for Mike in the near future -- he was the first one cast in the new Melrose Place.

Feeling the Madness

Found this great site "The Hero Factory" courtesy of Pop Candy.  As you can tell, I'm so in Cuse/B.E.T./March Madness mode as I'm waiting for the 9pm tip-off tonight.  I love the computer generated name of Burning Stache...sounds like a good new nickname for Ulick Cady.

Windsurfer? That's a compliment, right???

I was very happy to be reviewed for the first time in my professional career in the Phila Inq yesterday and even happier that the production was overall positively received.  Mr. Shapiro mentioned how I wasn't that funny at first -- he must have heard from all my friends that I'm the "King of Awful Puns."  Still it was nice to hear from an outside voice that after the first 20 minutes, I grab "the play by its themes and ride it like a windsurfer."  Unfortunately, being the political dork that I am, I can't get the image out of my head of good ole John Kerry windsurfing in his Dukakis/Snoopy/Tank moment: )

"You're Like John Kerry with his windsurfing.  I warned him too."
